Landon's Party

Happy Birthday Landon!

Landon turned ONE on Friday! He had a great birthday weekend. His party was held on Saturday at Landa Park. The weather could not have been more perfect. He enjoyed swinging and seeing his friends and family. He was not so sure about everybody singing to him and staring at him while he smashed his 1st cake. There were some tears, but then he enjoyed his first experience with sweets. We went to the doctor today for his one year appointment. He is 25 lbs., 13 ozs. and 31 inches long. He is a BIG boy. He gets to start whole milk now so we will see how that goes.

Landon's First Hair Cut

Before:

During:

After:

At home:

Brian had been nagging me for a LONG time about getting Landon's hair cut, SO I finally gave in today. Landon did a really good job. He was a little squirmy and he wanted to do his little dance during the cut but all in all he cooperated. He tried to help the stylist a few times...I think he thought he could cut his own hair. I am sure he will try that one of these days. I was pleased with the outcome even though he looks like a BIG BOY now and not a little baby.

Sporting a mohawk before my 1st hair cut!

Splish Splash I Was Takin' A Bath

Check out my crazy hair! Mommy and Daddy are taking me do get it cut this weekend. I will have Mommy post pictures of my new look soon.

One Man Wrecking Crew

Landon has two shelves that hold his books and toys on our entertainment center. I fix his shelves while he is napping and the first thing he does is clear them out piece by piece! As you can see he is very proud of himself!

Peggy and Aunt Do making smores

Landon and I went down to Port Isabel on the 2nd of January. We had a nice and relaxing time. I am no longer terrified to travel long distances with Landon by myself, so that is a GREAT thing. The two of us went to the Valley when he was 8 weeks old and it was VERY stressful - we were both in tears. I had not done the trip alone again until now and it went very well...YEAH!!! We had a Community Breakfast on Saturday morning...YUM!! All the neighbors met up in a carport and brought a breakfast dish to share, my Dad fixed eggs to your liking and Hannah (neighbor girl) made waffles on a grill. It is nice to see everyone and taste all the fabulous food! Landon and I enjoyed our time down there!

Happy New Year!

We rang in the New Year with Brian's sister, Tammy, and her husband, Paul. They came down from BRRRR Cold Colorado to Toasty Texas. We had a great time cooking, eating out, talking and laughing. We went to some touristy places while they were here...Gruene and The Wildlife Ranch - An African Safari. The African Safari was amazing. The ostriches and zebras were the best. They came right up to our car and would have joined us on our ride if we would have let them!! I had no idea zebras were so sociable. Tammy almost got her hand taken off by a goat in the petting zoo! Well that is a little bit of an exaggeration, but the goat did attack her bag of food and helped himself to some yummy paper! We are happy they came down to visit.
