Landon's First Team Sport - Soccer

Meeting Coach Steve

Love this picture.~He did not like all the grass on his long socks!  He sat there and pick all the little pieces off while he waited for his turn to kick the ball!  He has had another practice since this one and it no longer bothers him so that is good!

Kicking a GOAL!

Getting a High 5 from Coach Steve!

Landon is playing on a soccer team for the first time ever and he is really enjoying it.  He played in a week long camp over the summer, but this is the first time for him to be on a team that has weekly practices and Saturday games!  Brian and I are just excited as he is I think!  These pictures are from his first practice.  It was fun to watch them and I think they all did really well for 3-4 year olds!  Can't wait for the games to begin!

Livestock Show Fun

Rylen and Landon feeding the animals

Landon loved feeding all the animals

Rylen was a sweetie...I think she hugged every animal :)

Showing the love :)

While we were visiting my parents over spring break, the Rio Grande Livestock Show was going on and I really wanted to attend!  I used to go to this every year as a kid and have the best memories running all over the grounds, riding rides, playing games, petting animals and eating "carnival" food!  It was fun taking Landon to a place that I frequented as a child!  He had a blast as well with his cousin, Rylen.  They both shared some cotton candy and enjoyed petting/feeding the animals in the petting zoo!  We even got to see a puppet show that Landon is still talking about!  He said it was his favorite part of the whole day!  Thanks for a fun outing Pa and Meme!

Spring Break 2011

First night there and already fishing!

Excuse the visor/sunglasses problem...we will blame the wind, BUT look at the size of the trout he brought in the boat!

And he also got a baby trout :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy Birthday to my Dad!  Mom and Dad sure dressed for the holiday!

Landon was taught how to arm wrestle!

This is what goes on everyday down there for breakfast or supper and sometimes both!  Never a dull moment!  Landon loves it!

Cooking up a fine breakfast...check out the size of that grill!

Always have to take this tourist shot!

Cousins ~Landon and Rylen

Landon and I went down to Port Isabel for his Spring Break from preschool!  Preschool is tough stuff...every four year old needs a week off to relax!  South Padre was super packed so we stayed on this side of the causeway and had a great time fishing, hanging out with the neighbors, swimming, going to great restaurants, visiting the sea life center, riding the golf cart and LOTs of play time with Meme and Pa!

Cole and Landon thoroughly enjoying their cotton candy

Boys being silly...what they do best!

The Friday before Spring Break officially started we met some friends at Sea World hoping to beat the big crowds.  It was a PERFECT day to be at Sea World...beautiful weather and it was not crazy crowded!  We saw the Shamu Show and the Dolphin Show, spent lots of time at the aquarium and played at the new kiddie area.  We have passes this year so we will definitely be going back a lot!  Landon is still talking about the fun time he had.

Another fun fishing trip...

Daddy and Landon fishing :)

Showing off "Daddy Minnow"

Mommy, Landon and the blue catfish :)

One of Daddy's catches of the day

Landon caught a striped bass :)

This little fishy he is biting into was swimming in the river the day before...

As you can see by Landon's face, he LOVES the taste of white bass!

Sunday we went out on Canyon Lake again and caught more white bass, striped bass and a good sized blue catfish!  Landon was most excited about the catfish - for some reason he loves catfish so this was the highlight of his day!  He also liked that when we bought small minnows at the bait shop, they somehow got a large one in the mix so he played with the "Daddy Minnow" pretty much the entire fishing trip and it survivied all the attention!  He would not let us use it as bait and he released it when we were done fishing.  I am pretty sure we will be doing some kind of fishing every weekend now that it is so nice outside!  We welcome spring with open arms! :)

The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That!

So excited about eating green eggs and ham!

Showing off his green eggs...

Story Time - Landon is in deep concentraion!

Posing with the Cat in the Hat!

Landon and his buddy Cole

Our local children's museum put on a special breakfast honoring Dr. Seuss' birthday.  We enjoyed green eggs, ham and a biscuit!  They also had a special story time and at the end you could take your picture with The Cat in the Hat himslef.  Landon informed after some observation that he was not real and that it was just a costume.  He was right about that!  I told him the real Cat in the Hat was in Hollywood working on more movies and writing more books.  He was happy with that answer, thank goodness!  It was a well planned event and we were happy to meet up with some friends there as well!
