Comal County Fair

 Showing off the baby chick!

 Putting it to sleep :)

 Loving the boat ride!

Super fast slide...he loved it of course!

 Pre-Parade FUN

 Enjoying the parade :)

 Ryan, Landon and Davis

Landon was SOOOO excited about the Chick-Fil-A Cow (funny thing is, he used to despise him!)

Pony ride...he named the pony Tanner!

Thursday night we went as a family to the Fair!  We started off the evening eating good ol' fair food and then we headed to the midway where Landon rode every ride they would let him on.  He is still bummed that they would not let him on the bumper cars.  After the last ride he wanted an icee...he is pretty good about sharing BUT not with his icee.  He did not want Daddy to have any of it!

Friday morning we met tons of MOPS friends at the parade.  Some of the dads got up early to get our chairs out so we could all sit together.  Landon loved the parade.  I was hoping to stay only an hour but I could not peel him away so we stayed 2 1/2 hours!  The rain did not bother him a bit either!  We went back to the fair, had lunch, saw the animals again and he rode a pony.  A good time was had by all at the fair this year!

Family Fun in Kansas

Saying they were "King of the Mountain!"
Gotta love a game of tether ball!

G-Ma, Papa and Landon ready for some fishing!
Taking a little water break!
Giving it their A+ effort!
Landon was SOOO excited when he heaard there was a Landon Street in a neighboring town...he wanted his picture by the sign!

Driving the motorcycle through the garden!

G-Ma, Papa and Landon right before we left on our journey back to Texas!
Just had to add a picture of one of our pit stops on the way home!  My Little Super Star...he got these in the treasure chest at school! :)

Papa took Landon fishing on our last Saturday in Kansas and G-Ma and I tagged along to watch all the fun.  The fish were not real hungry but Landon did reel in one perch so that made his day!  The pond was at the Dillon Nature Center and in their gift shop they had chocolate covered crickets that Landon is still talking about!  They also had cheese flavored bugs...gross!  That evening Landon got to play in the dirt and ride a motorcycle with his cousins.  The kids had such a good time together and it was so fun just to sit back and watch them play.  I am very glad that Landon and I took this trip together and that we got to spend such quality time with family!  We both enjoyed our time and would love to do it again! :)  Memories were made that will last a lifetime!

 Goat feeding time :)

So excited to drive the fire truck

Landon having too much fun in the arts and crafts booth!

Vroom! Vroom!  Love the face!

The fair is so big that we did not get everything in the 1st time so we went back the Friday we returned from Nebraska.  Landon was super excited to wear his cowboy boots, jeans and belt!  We got to see all the animlas this time and Landon LOVES animals so he truly enjoyed this!  He got to feed some goats too and he was so funny trying to give the food only to the baby goat...he did not want the bigger goats to eat his food!  The fire trucks and ambulances were also set up at the fair and they let him get in and "drive" the fire truck. :)  He got to ride one last ride before leaving the fair because we had 2 tickets left from the week before and he chose the motorcycles...he honked his horn the entire ride!  Thanks for the great trip to the fair G-Ma and Papa!

Omaha Children's Museum and Pool Time!

This was a super fun chair that used a pulley to raise you up and down!

Fun with balls in the hydraulic room :)

Balls would fly out of this and Landon would get a kick out of it every time!

Little Scientists making bubble solution!

Landon preferred turning his bubble wand into glasses!

Feeding the calf some milk...sweet boy!

Little Bass Pro fun...had to go there since we were so close!

Cousin Fun
Landon and Mommy

Tatum, Tato, Ro Dawg and Parker

The girls taking over the boat and truck when the boys were not watching!

Our second day in Omaha we went to the Children's Museum, Bass Pro Shop and let them swim in the pool at the hotel! The museum was so much fun...the boys had the best time in the Hydraulic Ball room...I must say it was pretty fun for the adults too! The had a special event going on called Bubbleology where you could make your own bubble solution and wands. Although it was a neat idea our boys were not so much into it! They were ready to get back down stairs and play with the firetruck, boat and car exhibits! At least we got some good pictures in the lab coats! After the museum we were off to Bass Pro for lunch and more fun for the boys! They had just as much fun in the camping section as they did at the museum. :) Last but not least they finally got to swim...something they had begged to do since we first got to the hotel. So glad we got to see our cousins. Thanks for coming to meet us Tato!

Omaha Zoo with Cousins

Landon and Rowan...beginning of our day!

Looking at the fish in the aquarium

On the gorilla :)

Landon hangin' with the Lemur

Momma tiger with her baby in the background. I could have watched the baby all day. So cute!

Ended the day at Quaker Steak and Lube...what a hit for boys! Race cars hung down from the ceiling! This was in Iowa too, so we actually made it to 5 states on our vacation!

The boys in front of the gas tank! They loved the jellyfish that they got out of the machine but sadly they both lost them before the trip was over.

Since Landon and I made it up to Kansas we thought it would be fun to drive about 5 more hours North and meet up with Mary Ann and her kiddos in Omaha, Nebraska. The drive there was very nice...I loved seeing all the planted crops, old and new barns, a very old church, etc. A big change of scenery when your used to driving down 35 or through the King Ranch! We spent 3 nights together and hit the main childhood highlights! The Omaha Zoo is amazing and they have gone above and beyond to make it a wonderful zoo. Most all of the exhibits are over the top and you do not feel sorry for the animals like in some other zoos. They have done very well in putting them in their natural habitat. The swamp was one of my favorites...very dark, bug noises in the background, beavers and alligators out and about...very neat! The little ones had fun too~Landon is still talking about it!

Okay , so not everyone loved this ride...
Turkey Hill gives away ice cream every year...we all enjoyed the peanut butter/chocolate ice cream!

Coming off the stage with his CD after drumming!

Landon and Papa...Landon LOVES playing on all these type of ATVs at the fair!

One tired out cowboy...

Landon and I are on a Mommy/Son Roadtrip while Daddy is home working and holding down the fort in New Braunfels. We came to Kansas to visit Brian's family. We arrived on Friday and on Saturday we went to the Kansas State Fair. We were there for 7 hours and did not even see everything...it is huge and full of FUN things to do. We spent a huge chunk of the time in the midway~Landon would ride any and every ride but he does not reach the height requirement for all of them yet. He paired up with his older cousin Bethany and they did lots of thrill rides together! We visited the petting zoo and fed the cute little animals some food and even saw a kangaroo! Landon's favorite part of the day was the Wild About Monkeys show...he would have seen it again if he could have! I was told that if you go to the fair you have to have a Pronto Pup, which is essentially a corn dog BUT do not call it that at the sate fair! So, Landon and I shared one and I must say I did not think it tasted any different than a regular corn dog (ssshhh-don't tell the locals I said that!) I enjoyed roasted corn on a cob which is one of my favorite fair foods while Landon and his cousins devoured a bag of blue cotton candy! Landon also had the opportunity to go on stage and play drums with a band, so of course he enjoyed every minute of that experience and received a CD of their music as a reward for his participation! It was a great day spent with family and I love making memories with my lil' man!
