Christmas Morning

Ho! Ho! Ho! Santa came to town!

Love this smile...priceless!

checking out his legos

our kiddos :)

McKenzie and her stocking :)

Our Tree - Landon wanted colored lights instead of white lights so Landon got his colored lights!  Kids are what make Christmas so much fun!

Landon ran into our room bright and early Christmas morning exclaiming that Santa had gotten him just what he wanted!  Love seeing the excitement on his face!  He got us out of bed, so we could see all that Santa had brought him.  He was hoping for 3 Star Wars lego sets and Santa delivered that and more!  McKenzie was not sure what to think about the Christmas excitement this year, but Santa surely did not forget her!  The one and only year Santa will get away with bringing her diapers and wipes! ;)

We then enjoyed cinnamon rolls with G-Ma's special icing!  The rest of the day was spent playing with all the loot!  Landon and Brian spent quite some time constructing legos!

This year we stayed home for Christmas since McKenzie is so little.  It was nice not to travel, but we did miss spending time with all of our family.  My parents came up Christmas day which was so nice.  Landon was thrilled to have Meme and Pa here!  We got our turkey, gravy and dressing from Bill Miller (which was super yummy!) and then we made all the sides and desserts to go with it.  Glad I did not have to tackle the turkey roasting just yet! ;)  Thanks for coming to visit us on Christmas Meme and Pa!

McKenzie is 2 months old...

McKenzie had her 2 month appointment and weighed in at 10 pounds, 15 ounces and she is 24 inches long.

Oh Miss McKenzie...You love to sleep on your tummy! You can only do this for naps until you are older which is a bummer because I am fairly certain you would sleep longer at night if you could be on your tummy. You like a pacifier, but only during the day. You will not take one at night. You are still easy going, but do let us know when something is not going the way you would like! ;) You will give BIG smiles when we talk to you and you let out a squeaky sound when you are really excited. You enjoy "alone" time and will cry just because you want us to put you down!

Your big brother still adores you.  He is eager for you to do more but he does get super excited when you smile at him when he talks to you.  He sings to you in the car and that sometimes makes you stop crying!  You have a little protector for life, that is for sure!

Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas!

We made our annual visit to see Santa Claus this year!  Landon has grown up so much...instead of just telling Santa what he wanted, he wrote it!  It will be a Star Wars kind of Christmas!  He is hoping for Star Wars legos, a big light saber, and Star Wars figures!

Sea World Christmas

Landon and Cole

being a cheeser... :)

Enjoying the "snow!"

Santa Shamu

Silly Shark

McKenzie staying warm on her first trip to Sea World!

Landon, McKenzie and I went with our friends, Jana and Cole to Sea world for the special Christmas events!  My favorite time to go to Sea World is around Halloween and Christmas...they decorate everything so nicely and they have special shows and events just for the holidays!

It was quite the adventure having a 2 month old with us there all day, but McKenzie was a trooper!  Special thanks to my friend, Jana!  It was great having another set of hands and eyes there!  Landon told me his favorite parts of the day were seeing Shamu, watching Polar Express 4D anf seeing all the charaters dressed in their holiday gear!

Landon's Christmas Program

Landon singing with his class

Pa, Landon and Meme

Landon and Mom

Ready to go watch her big brother...

Landon sang in the annual Christmas program at his preschool!  He did a wonderful job...sang nicely and did the hand motions!  It was so sweet to hear him sing these songs at random times throughout the last month and a half!  He would color and/or play and practice singing the songs he learned at school.

Meme and Pa came up just to watch him and he was so excited about that.  As soon as he got on stage he scanned the audience until he found us and gave us proud smiles!  Thanks for coming Meme and Pa!

McKenzie is 1 month and 8 days...

Practicing her ballet moves or maybe karate :)

I ordered these FUN monthly stickers to put on McKenzie's onesies on her monthly "birthdays," and the stickers came in 8 days late!  Still had to capture the one month picture!  We decorated her room in owls so I was so excited when I found them with an owl theme!

Miss McKenzie, you have brought great joy to all of us during your first month with us!  Your brother absolutely adores you and is already very protective.  Your cord has fallen off, and you have experienced your first real bath (and loved it).  You began social smiling right at the one month mark.  We just cannot get enough of your sweet smiles!  You are by no means sleeping through the night, but mommy knows that will come at sometime...hopefully! ;)  You are extremely easy going and hardly fuss or cry.  We are truly blessed to have you!

Kids in Camo

Looks like she is saying, "Hey!"

sweet baby face

Landon loves his sister :)

Think it is kind of funny that one is as happy as the other is sad!

All better...

When my mom found out we were having a girl she went into a cute little boutique in my hometown and found a sweet, girly camo outfit and she just couldn't resist!  I dressed both kiddos in their camo duds and shot a few pictures!  Good thing it fit her during deer season so she can be in style with her brother the hunter!

HUGE Milestone...

Showing off his new "window" - lost November 10th

So EXCITED about his missing tooth!

Showing off his second "window" - lost December 6th

New toothless smile!

Landon has lost not one, but two teeth!  I was not ready for this to happen...only big boys lose their teeth and how can he be old enough to lose teeth?!  He was beyond excited when the first one came out.  He actually pulled it on his own, and we had a little drama because it was instantly lost and we were afraid it had gone down the drain but we found it on the floor!  The Tooth Fairy came in the night and left him one gold coin in an envelope full of confetti!  Landon told everyone he saw for several days about his missing tooth and what he had received from the Fairy.  Then a little fear set in and he decided he did not like that the Fairy came into his room in the night and he was afraid to lose the second one.  He left it in his mouth so long that it fell out while he was eating AND he accidently swallowed it!  Oops!  Together, Landon and I wrote the Tooth Fairy a note explaing what had happened and she was nice enough to still leave him another gold coin with more confetti!  We did have to leave this note taped to his door because he did not want her entering while he was sleeping!

Thanksgiving

Crawfish fishing at Landa

Our smallest turkey!

Train ride in the dark...brrrr!

Hard at work making a gingerbread house!

Taking a break to give me a quick smile!

Papa and Landon showing off their catfish!

Grandparents with their grandbabies!

Jacob and Landon at his preschool feast!

Brian's parents came down to Texas for the week of Thanksgiving and we sure enjoyed having them here. Landon loved the quality time with G-Ma and Papa! They colored, built legos, read books, drew, put puzzles together, played outside and enjoyed a train ride at the park. The boys went fishing on Saturday and caught some good catfish. G-Ma and Papa took Landon to the Snake Farm one day and that was right up his alley...he had a blast! Our Thanksgiving dinner was a hit! We ordered a turkey from Granzin's (which we will do again - yum!) and made all the sides and desserts! Nothing like good ole comfort food!

Thanks G-Ma and Papa for such a GREAT Thanksgiving!
