Happy Halloween!

Mommy the Hippie and Landon the Firefighter

Hanging out with his friends before Trick or Treating!

The whole gang :)

This was my favorite Halloween with Landon...he truly got the idea of dressing up, festivals, going door to door trick or treating, etc.  It was such a FUN time for us as a family.  He picked his costume out in August and told anyone that would listen to him that he was going to be a Firefighter...don't confuse Fireman with Firefighter either because he would correct you! :)  Our friends the Torbesons invited us over for dinner and Trick or Treating in their neighborhood.  It made it tons of fun with so many kiddos.  Landon is super social and always likes to be with his friends! :)  Thanks for having us over to your house!  Halloween 2010 was a GREAT success!

Happy Birthday Cousin Elli!

Can't go to the zoo and not get a picture on the lions! :)

The butterflies LOVED Daddy!

Landon was quite impressed with the butterflies!

Trying to give it a kiss!

Blowing his wings open :)

Birthday Girl :)

She was so happy to have butterflies on her dress!

Landon borrowed Cousin Elli's wings for a little run in the park!

Elli celebrated her birthday at the San Antonio Zoo and we all had a wonderful time!  We spent a very long time with the butterflies because they were super active and sociable this time.  Landon learned how to get them on his finger and they were even landing on his head and clothes!  At one time Daddy had about 5 on him!  We also enjoyed seeing the aquarium, bears, monkeys, hippos, etc.  The animals were quite active since it was cool outside!  We had a picnic lunch and butterfly cake at the park after looking at all the animals.  The kiddos had a fun time and we are glad we got to help celebrate Elli's 2nd Birthday!

Halloween Preschool Style :)

Ready for the preschool parade :)

Little Orphan Annie and Firefighter

Firefighter Landon and his friend Olivia

Hard at work...

Haunted House Complete :)

Being silly...what 3 year olds do best!

Landon's preschool lets them wear their costumes to school and then all the parents sat in a oval as they parade around us...SO cute!  Landon waved the whole time.  You would think he had been in parades his whole life.  He has watched his fair share so I guess he knew what to do!  The kiddos were adorable in their costumes and they loved showing them off to all of us!

The next day we went to his friend, Max's house to make haunted houses, eat yummy snacks and play with his friends from school.  He has just decided he likes crafty things and truly enjoyed making his spooky house.  He ate about as much candy as he put on but that is allowed at holidays right?!

Our Pre-Halloween festivites were fun and I always love watching my lil' guy interact with his friends! :)

Trip to the Valley

BIG winner!

Yes, this is what you think it is...it is a pinata cage!  Never seen one of these before but I must admit it is a great idea!

Playing a fishing game with Meme!

Mommy and Landon ready for the wedding!

Pa and Meme at the wedding :)

Great to see my childhood friend, Laura!

Landon meets a new girlfriend just about everywhere he goes...he pretty much cheated on his school girlfriend at the wedding with my friend's daughter, Calli!  He tried all night to get Calli to dance with him but never had any luck.  Poor guy already had to deal with rejection at the age of 3! :)

My Bro and I...it is always great to see him!

Rylen playing in the ball pit.  She is such a cutie!

Elmo!!!

Just a little shot of the show!

Trick or Treating in Port Isabel - The wind was so bad that Landon had to hold his hat on or it would have blown off!

Can't go to Port Isabel without going to Pirate's Landing AND getting a picture as a pirate!

Landon and I went to Port Isabel the weekend before Halloween!  We squeezed a lot of FUN and excitement into 3 1/2 days!  We got into Harlingen just in time to celebrate our cousin, Jordan's, 5th Birthday at Peter Piper Pizza.  Friday we went to the new ranch that my dad and brother bought, but Landon says the ranch in Goliad is "the real ranch!"  We attended a wedding on Saturday night...Landon danced the night away!  If there is music, he will dance!  Sunday Meme surprised Landon with tickets to see Elmo Live and that show was a HUGE hit!  I think he liked the cotton candy as much as the show!  He got to hug Abby and Telli and was most excited about Abby!  I was so bummed I missed the picture...the opportunity was gone in a flash!  Landon went to a few of my parent's neighbors/friends dressed in his costume and got some yummy chocolate!  He loved showing off his costume!  We stuck around for a long time on Monday playing with Pa and Meme and got off to a really late start back home but we really enjoyed our extra time with them.  Thanks Meme/Mom and Pa/Dad for a superb trip down south!

Petite Rouge - cajun version of Little Red Riding Hood

Landon and I met up with friends to see our very first Magic Theatre Production and we are so happy we have a season pass!  Landon was mesmerized and sat on the edge of his seat for the 1st half and then he was up dancing for the remainder of the show!  He was not ready for it to be over and wanted them back on the stage!  Good thing there are 7 more shows left in the season!  He got to meet the characters at the end and gave each of them big hugs!  Can't wait to see Junie B. Jones Jingle Bells, Batman Smells in December!

Pumpkin Patch with Friends

This tractor was a huge hit with all the lil' ones!

Landon pulling his buddy Cole!

Look at that concentration...

We went to the pumpkin patch with some friends and Landon took his friend, William, along...they had the best time together!  I was completely entertained in the car listening to a 3 year old boy conversation.  The kiddos enjoyed running through the pumpkins, pulling and filling up wagons, playing in the hay, going on a hay ride and painting the pumpkin of their choice!  we finished off the day at the picnic tables by the playground where they continued to run off their endless energy!

Camping on Lake Buchanan

Nothing like some good bacon on a camping trip!

Proud of his 1st catch of the day!  This was a funny story...Daddy casted his line out and then ran up to the motor home to get weights and Landon told me , "I think I got one!"  I thought he was just wanted to reel in the line for fun but I went ahead and told him to reel it in and check.  He was right...this fish was on the hook!

"Check out my sun perch!"

and another one...fishing was good :)

Beautiful Sunset

View from our campsite...beautiful!

Landon enjoyed climbing on the BIG rocks!

Daddy and his fishing buddy :)

Biggest catch of the weekend...see the bend in the pole!  Landon was really hoping to keep this fish so Daddy could grill it for our supper but we convinced him to throw it back!

Landon's version of wade fishing!  He was such a patient fisherman...Daddy would help him get the line out far and then he would sit down and wait for the bobber to disappear.  As soon as he had a bite he would hurry up and stand up and reel in the fish.  Daddy would take the hook out and Landon found great pleasure in throwing the fish back in the water.

View from my lawn chair...perfect!

The boys chillin' after a long, fun day!

 Playing with a minnow :)

Ended the evening with s'mores...yummy!

Landon loves the outdoors and is obsessed with fishing so we decided to go camping some place that had a lake...we ended up at Lake Buchanan and had the BEST family weekend!  My parents let us use their motorhome so we did not have to rough it in a tent which was nice.  Landon was over-the-top excited about riding in the motor home to get to our destination!  We booked a site on the water right by the boat ramp which was good because that was HUGE entertainment for Landon just watching the people launch their boats and go fishing; and then he was just as excited when they returned and he got to check out and tell them what kind of fish they caught!  Being by the boat ramp was also bad because Landon woke up before daylight each day so afraid he was going to miss something. I could not believe how many die hard fisherman get on the lake before dawn  - we were required to watch each one starting about 5:30am!  We had an overall GREAT experience and plan to go again soon...good thing we live in Texas where it is pretty much good camping weather even in the winter!
