Landon enjoying the waves!

We celebrate our wedding anniversary in Port Aransas every year!  This was McKenzie's 1st time on the beach...she loved hanging out on the beach, but she was not a fan of the cold waves crashing at her feet!  We tried to put her in the pool for the 1st time as well, but again she did not like how cold it was!  Landon is our little beach bum and he enjoyed playing in the sand, swimming in the ocean, riding the waves in on a boogie board and he did LOTS of fishing and caught his first sand trout.  We ate at our favorite restaurants and got our seafood fix!  We all had a fantastic time and we are already figuring out when we can go again!

Landon and Cole playing with the mimes at the Farmer's Market.

McKenzie "enjoying" the Farmer's Market.

One of the things I love about New Braunfels is all the festivals, parades and fairs that occur all year!  Landon has walked/strolled in this parade since he was 1 year old!  This year the parade was brought to you by the letter Bb...we had Batman and a Ballerina!  Landon flip flopped back and forth from being Luke Skywalker and Batman but he decided to be a superhero!  After the parade we walked through the Farmer's Market and then headed to Kid Fest!  It was a very busy, but fun filled weekend!

McKenzie is 6 months old...

Happy Girl :)

toothless grin

sitting up so well

McKenzie you...

- are a SUPER happy baby and smile at everyone (except the Dr. - you cry everytime we enter the doors even when it is just for your brother)
- are not a fan of cereal.  You do like carrots, so that is a plus!
- still wear a size 2 diaper!  You are a lil' thing!
- are really active and kick or grab anything in your reach.
- put everything in your mouth!
- tried out the exersaucer and jumperoo for the first time recently
- are not a great sleeper!  You become restless in the night...not hungry but not sure what is bothering you ~ maybe teeth?!
- LOVE your brother and he loves you!  He does not like other kids messing with you!
- are about 15 lbs.
- lost all your hair except for a mohawk on top of your head!
- you make a "squishy face" ~ this is when you wrinkle up your nose and blow in and out of your nose really fast!
- have started sitting up for a short amount of time!

Bluebonnets 2012

our cuties :)

Landon and his friend, Max

McKenzie is proud of herself that she picked herself a bluebonnet!

Our BIG 5 year old!

Landon, McKenzie and I met some friends in a couple of bluebonnet patches to get our annual bluebonnet pictures!  It was not the best time of day to do this because it was super sunny but we still managed to get some good shots!

One last catch before we left to come back home!

Landon won the Cousin Fishing Tournament for the 3rd year in row!  Way to go Landon!

Every Easter we have a Cousin Reunion.  It has been held in various locations but since 1998 it has been at my parent's place in Goliad.  Every Friday we head to Cuero to shop at the little store/boutiques, we eat lunch at Rosie's and then we make one last grocery run at HEB.  Friday night we went to the LaPaHa Ranch and and had burgers, hotdogs and smores!  All the kids enjoyed fishing in the pond.  We left right after it got dark because the mosquitos started to emerge!  Thanks for having us VK's!  Saturday morning we got the kiddos to Goliad for the annual egg hunt that is always followed with a little more shopping and a snack at The Blue Quail (They have the BEST cream of jalapeno soup!)  We did not stay in town long because I had to get Landon back so he could start fishing...he had a title to defend!  He ended up winning the the tournament with a 16 inch large mouth bass!  He caught several but that was the biggest of the day!  He will tell you that he, "casted, hooked it and reeled it in all by myself!"  We are so very proud of our fisherman!  We also enjoy a great lunch with the entire family, had a confetti egg fight, destroyed a pinata, and ended the evening with some awesome grilled shrimp!  This was McKenzie's first time at the ranch and her first Easter...she was definitely a trooper!

So glad we have this every year.  I enjoy seeing our extended family members and I am glad our children will grow up knowing all of their cousins!
