The Next Michael Phelps

Landon is officially a swimmer and we could not be more proud of him. He put everything he has learned in lessons together and he SWIMS! It so amazing to watch the progress he has made in just a few weeks. He will jump off the side of a pool swim, turn around and swim back to the steps/edge. He will also swim from a shallow area into the deep, get air and swim some more. He is so happy about being able to swim as well...he will tell people we are around, "Watch me, I can swim all by myself!"

Swim Lessons

Jumping to Miss Jessica

Landon and Jake having fun waiting on their turn...love the little goggle faces!

Showing off his presents from his coaches :)

We took him to the pool after his lesson one evening and got him underwater!

Landon got to participate in Sclitterswim (Schlitterbahn swim lessons) this year since he is the magic age of 3! Seems like at age 3 so many doors open up for the little ones! They do an awesome job and we were so pleased with his progress. It took a bit for him to warm up to his teachers and for him to trust them but once he came around he was our little fish! He loves to wear goggles now and constantly has his head in the water looking around. He will now dive down (with some assistance) into the 4 foot area for toys. That is his favorite thing to do right now. He will swim a short distance and can do a great belly float! we are continuing lessons all summer in hopes that we have a solid swimmer by September!

Boating with Cousins

Tatum, Tato and Parker

Ro-Dawg and Landon

Having a good time!

Last Sunday we took the Fredricksons out on the boat. Little did we know that the lake would flood on Wednesday. The boys (Landon and Rowan) had an absolute blast on the ski trainer and tube. When Brian would stop the boat, thinking they had had enough, they would inform us that they were not done. They tubed and skied their little hearts out and laughed so hard on the tube whenever they would hit a wave and get bounced around. It was Parker and Tatum's first time on a boat and they did fantastic. They were entertained by just watching the boys and enjoying the sunshine and boat ride. They will be behind the boat soon enough. :) Great memories were made...can't wait to do it again!

It is that time of year...

Thumbs Up!

Daddy and Landon

Loving being on the boat :)

Flying high...

Drying off in his dinosaur towel...roar!

We finally got the boat out for the first time this season on Memorial Day. We waited until late in the day so it would not be so crowded and it worked out well! Landon was so excited to get on his ski trainer...he cracked us up when he would give people a thumbs up when we passed them and he made sure to wave too! Friendly little skier we have. :)

We also enjoyed some pool time. Landon loves being in the water and he especially loved being thrown up in the air. He would ask Daddy to throw him because he could get him really high!

Water Hose Fun!

His face shows you how much fun he is having :)

Mastering the long range spray by putting his thumb in the water stream...he thought that was great!

Oops, sprayed himself instead of Daddy!

First, I want to start off with a little disclaimer on the outfit...Landon dresses himself everyday and usually 5 times or more a day, so this was one of his fashion statements ~ tie dyed shirt, camo shorts and his winter Crocs! The redfish visor is almost always on his head these days as well! Hilarious site but he was happy so that is what counts! I must add (in his defense) he generally does a great job picking out matching outfits but today must have been Silly Sunday!

It was rather hot on Sunday so we let him play with the water hose and he sure had fun. We do this every Summer and he has just as much fun each time. He thought it was really good when he was able to spray us...all 3 of us were soaked after this adventure.

Come play, Schlitterbahn, bahn, bahn, bahn, bahn...

Playing in the submarine with Jake

Ty, Declan and Landon

Schlitterbahn has opened for the season and we have already enjoyed breaking in our passes! Since Landon is a big 3 year old this year, he had to have a pass too! He feels important getting a wristband just like Mom and all the big kids! I enjoy meeting up with my mommy friends and Landon has a blast playing with his buddies. As soon as we get to the park he asks, "Where are my friends?" He is such a little dare devil and does really well in the water. We are happy to live in such a FUN tourist town and planning on having - "The hottest, coolest time in Texas" for 3 months!

A look back at Landon's Mother's Day Out...

First Day of MDO ~ December 2008 ~ 22 months
Look how huge his backpack looks?!?!

First Day of 2009-2010 Year ~ 2 years, 7 months

Last Day of 2009-2010 Year ~ 3 years, 4 months

He has grown into his backpack now! :)

Landon just completed his 1st full year of Mother's Day Out (MDO) on Thursday, so of course I had to take a picture of him on his last day in the 2 year old class. He loved his year at "school" and had so much fun with his friends and had the best teachers that made his days there very enjoyable! After I uploaded the pictures from his last day I decided to look back at his earlier pictures from MDO and I am amazed how much he has grown and changed in such a short time. He is truly a big boy now and has lost all signs of baby and toddler. Although I miss some of those baby/toddler days, I am loving this stage that he is in right now and wish we could push the slow motion button so he will not grow up too fast!

Landon playing with a BIG worm

Sunday FUNday!

Off to find the perfect fishing hole...

Digging in the worm canister :)

Showing off his worm :)

His big catch =)

Look at my toad!

We started off our Sunday at Pica Taco...one of our most favorite places to eat breakfast and then we headed to church, lunch and home for a good nap! It is a rare occurrence that we all take naps but we did and it was great! Landon then asked to go fishing, so off to Cypress bend park we went. He loves to fish, play with the worms, run down the path by the river and throw rocks in the water. We had such a good time. He caught several Blue Gil fish and was super proud of himself. He then caught a toad when we were walking the trail and loved chasing after it. It was a super day and makes me even more excited about this warm weather and long days!

Papa and G-Ma Come to Town :)

Papa, G-Ma, Elli and Landon

G-Ma and Papa

Papa and Landon fishing...if you look closely you can see his catch

Brian's parents came to visit last weekend and we sure had fun catching up with them. Daddy, Papa and Landon went fishing while G-Ma and I went shopping. On Mother's Day, we went to church and came home and the boys grilled yummy steaks and we baked some veggie casseroles...sure beat dealing with the crowds at restaurants. Landon loves all the attention from his grandparents, not to mention the special treats they sneak him! We enjoyed the time we had with them and are already looking forward to planning another visit.
