Brian, Landon and I went to Port Aransas for the weekend to celebrate 6 years of Wedded Bliss! It is tradition for us...we have gone each year! We eat at the same place for our nice meal, Beulah's. They have the BEST bacon wrapped tuna covered in some top secret recipe glaze...YUMMY!!! I can taste it right now just thinking about it. They serve it with mashed potatoes and asparagus and it is to die for!!!
This was Landon's first experience on the beach since he started walking and he absolutely loved it. He was so hilarious...he wanted all the sea weed in one pile so he spent a lot of time making a big pile of sea weed. He also enjoyed digging and playing in the sand and water. It was a blast just watching him have such a great time exploring and playing.
During the trip Brian became the new FP...favorite parent. Landon would only hold Daddy's hand by the water and he would only give Daddy hugs. I have to admit it is very sweet to watch, but I do feel rejected. So it has been a joke ever since and Brian's new name is FP. Even though the weekend is over Brian is still Landon's FP.
Landon "touches" a dolphin. Landon "kisses" a dolphin. Saturday, while we were on our Port Aransas trip we decided to go see the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus. It is a pretty neat place. Landon got to see all kinds of fish, otters, birds, dolphins, snakes and spiders. His all time favorite part was the American Alligator exhibit. He could not get enough of them...it was funny to see how into them he was. Brian would walk him over to the stingrays and Landon would turn around and go right back to the alligators.
Landon and I went to Kim and Kaila's house today. Landon and Kaila get so excited when they see other. I was getting Landon out of his car seat when he spotted Kaila and he started waving wildly, making silly noises and kicking his legs like crazy. Landon got to play in the sprinkler for the first time...he was not so sure about the water spraying in his face, but he got used to it and really enjoyed himself. They also played in Kaila's new water table. Kim and I snacked on spinach dip and crackers while the kiddos played and we got busted...they wanted some too. To our surprise they both liked it! Kim then made lunch for us and it was quite tasty. The lil' ones got carrots and grilled cheese and we ate tuna casserole. Thanks for a great time Kim and Kaila!
Landon being a CHEEZER with his Daddy Don't you just want to pinch those cute cheeks? Brian, Landon and I took the boat out for the first time this season and it was so great to be out on the lake! Landon loved being on the boat. His life jacket fits much better this year since he has a neck now!! Poor guy...last year it was like he was wearing a neck brace. He was all over the place and he even tried to help his Daddy drive a couple of times. He entertained himself for a long time by putting his sippy cup in and out of the cup holder...silly boy. We are all looking forward to a FANTASTIC summer on the lake!
Landon received this cute hat as a hand me down from his dear cousins Cameron and Christopher. When I put it on him I instantly thought of Mr. Cuba. For those of you that knew him you, know that he had this type of hat in every color and pattern. It put a smile on my face and brought back many great memories of of our Dear Ole' Mr. Cuba!
Brian put Landon's sand table together over the weekend and BOY was Landon excited!! He loves it! He got it from his Grammy and Pa for his Birthday, but we waited until Spring to put it together. Pa brought sand up from South Padre Island. I LOVE real beach sand and so far so does Landon.
The boys checking out the wallaby! Kellie and Ethan looking at the lions. Beautiful Peacock! Today Landon and I went to the Austin Zoo with Kellie and Ethan. It was really neat, the boys got to ride together in the wagon and us moms got a workout pulling them over the rugged terrain. We got to see most of the animals pretty close up and the boys got to ride a train for the first time. It was a great train ride...the views were beautiful!! In the lion den they hung frozen meat and the lions would bat at it until it fell and then they sat there and licked like a popsicle...pretty interesting to watch.
Landon sporting his new sweatshirt! Mom gets attacked by the Loris...AGHHH!!!!! Mom, Sue and Landon Landon after a hard day at the zoo. Poor lil' guy...it is a tough job playing all day at the zoo! My Mom and her friend, Sue, met Landon and I at the zoo on Friday for my birthday...what a special treat!! They were in Goliad and came over for the day. It was chilly in the morning and we were not really prepared for that. Grammy got Landon a new sweatshirt in the gift shop to keep him warm. It was a nice day and we really enjoyed ourselves.

"No, no Landon!" Landon finds that quote immensely funny. Whenever he hears it he continues to do what he is not supposed to be doing more intensely or races as fast as he can to a forbidden area (i.e. bathroom). He is either laughing hysterically, grinning or saying "na. na, na" as he does this. It is so hard to keep a straight face and be stern with him and let him know we mean business.
"Check out my shirt...it changes color in the sun." Kaila being one cool chica with her shades. She liked crawling through the tunnel. Landon and Kaila get so excited when they see each other. It is so fun to watch. Kaila and her Mommy came over and we went on a walk in the wagon, played outside and inside and ate pizza and broccoli. It was a great playdate!
On January 25th we became a family of three! Landon James entered the world and has brought excitement to us ever since. Visit our blog to see and read about what is going on in the Yutzy Family.
