This year we went to Port Isabel/South Padre to celebrate Thanksgiving!  We had our big meal at the ranch and then the boys stayed out there to hunt and the girls went back to civilization!  The boys joined us on our last night there so I was able to take Landon to the beach!  The weather was gorgeous!  He was so excited to play in the waves and the best part...it was not crowded!  We had an enjoyable Thanksgiving and successfully squeezed in many activities!

Landon and his classmates were allowed to choose their Thanksgiving menu and then helped prepare the meal over a two day span.  Landon got to help with the turkey and the corn!  He gave me all the details about preparing the turkey...he enjoyed that activity!  Everyone in his class were to make a turkey out of any items they could think of...Landon made a sport themed Perky Turkey!  The turkey has Landon's old soccer socks for feet!  McKenzie was of course along for the ride.  They shared their food with her and Mrs. Reynolds even gave her some blocks to play with to keep her entertained!

Landon is going to a private school this year and one of the things that I LOVE about it is, they do not have school on Friday!  So, his class takes advantage of that and has LOTS of field trips on Fridays! 

The 1st one in November was at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens.  They had dinosaur exhibits throughout the gardens...we found all the dinosaurs and read information about them.  The kiddos really enjoyed it!

The second field trip in November was at the Conservation Center in New Braunfels.  The kiddos learned how to hand wash clothes, sew, saw an old school house, learned about chuck wagons and blacksmiths!  They even made their own candle and were given a corn husk doll!

McKenzie is 12 months AND 2 weeks old!

- eat 2 tubs of baby food 3 times a day!  You like pretty much everything now!
- drink 3 bottles a day!
- are walking (Well, really just stepping BUT it is so fun to watch!)
- repeat what we are saying or at least try to!
- LOVE Daisy and she tolerates you!
- are into everything. 
- are called "sweet girl" or "crazy girl" by daddy!  You are definitley sugar and spice and can turn your emtions on and off instantly!
- are called mainly McKenzie or McKenzie Ann by Landon, but sometimes "McKenz"
- are called lots of things by mommy...McAdoo, Macaroni, McKenzie Ann-Marie
- are told, "No mam" by Landon when you are getting into his things!  Makes us laugh bc you do not care and continue to antagonize your Big Bro!
- are a spit fire!  You have a very strong personality and hold your own in this house!
- love to take a bath!
- have 4 teeth, but you are working on getting in LOTS more!
- think it is okay to wake up and start the day at 5 am...we are working on that! 
- LOVE giving and receiving hugs!

Landon loves to go hunting and has looked forward to the opening weekend of deer season for months!  All week he was busy packing his bags, and on Friday he brought them all out of his room and sat them by the door.  I checked his bags to make sure he remembered all of his necessities and I was so impressed...he had only left out his pajamas!  He had even packed his toothbrush and toothpaste!  When Brian got home from work they headed out and I was happy to receive picture updates throughout the weekend!

Our awesome t-ball player!

 

Landon completed his second season of t-ball and he is already looking forward to coach pitch!  He has definitely found a sport that suits him well!  He looks forward to every practice and takes each game seriously!  He enjoys practicing in the backyard as well!  Let's not forget that baseball is on TV right now...if it is on, he is watching it!  Way to go Landon!  We are so proud of how well you did on Team Grey!
