Landon enjoying his ice cream and cake at Tristan's party :)

Friday, Landon and I drove to Waxahachie to attend the Texas Country Reporter's Festival with my parents. This is a huge event with several vendors and lots of great festival food! Landon loved dancing to the music and jumping in the bounce houses most of all. He even rode on a giant horse. We drove back Saturday afternoon and rested up for his friend, Tristan's birthday party on Sunday. It was at J&R Gymnastics, one of Landon's all time favorite places to go! He talked all day about going to "gymnastics" to see Tristan! Happy 3rd Birthday Tristan!

In the hay maze...this was a favorite of his :)

We went to Love Creek Orchards on Saturday with Brian's family and really enjoyed the various activities. There were a ton of pumpkins, a hay ride, apple orchard tour, pony rides, petting zoo, hay maze, and more! It was even cool in the morning so it felt like a Fall day. Landon actually got to wear a long-sleeve shirt. :) I even had a Frito-Pie and that is my favorite "carnival" food! A great time was had by all of us and we ended the night with a great steak/chicken dinner at the Houges.

The awesome view! :)

Brian's parents are in town visiting from Kansas, and his sister and her family recently moved to San Antonio so we decided to try out a new adventure and stay one night in Johnson City at this awesome animal farm. Tammy, his sister, found this great place and we would definitely go back sometime. It is fun for all ages. As soon as we arrived we took our tour of the grounds and hand fed many types of deer, zebras, ostriches, buffalo, llamas and a camel. The camel was the most persistent and friendliest. He followed us as far as he could and even had his head stuck up in our trailer area. Back at the cabin area, they have a petting zoo, playground and swimming pool all overlooking the beautiful hill country. After cooling off in the pool, the guys grilled us some steaks and chicken and we ended they day with a tasty meal. We visited the petting zoo and playground one more time in the morning and then headed to the LBJ Ranch and Enchanted Rock...some very fun and busy days! :)

Meme and Pa's Quick Visit

Meme, Landon and Pa hanging out in the motor home!

Landon had just woken up from a nap and headed straight outside.

Landon was thrilled to open the door and see his Pa and Meme. He gave them huge hugs and said "Well, come in!" ~ so cute. They came by for a short visit on their way through town. Landon loves that they drive a motor home and he would spend all day in it if we let him. Pa let him pretend drive and he told us he was going to the ranch. Doesn't he know the right thing to say even at a young age. It was great to see them even if it was for only a short time. Thanks for stopping by Pa and Meme.

Happy 2nd Birthday William! Enjoying his yummy ice cream!

Saturday morning we headed out to the fair as a family. :) I saved the carnival rides for when Daddy could join us! We visited/petted the animals, rode LOTS of rides, ate great food, played kiddie games, "drove" tractors and had a grand time just hanging out all together! Landon went on his first roller coaster and had the time of his life. He cracked us up on the rides because he acted like he was in a parade...he waved to everyone during each ride. He would have one hand on the steering wheel and wave with the other with a huge smile on his face.

Later that day we helped William celebrate his 2nd Birthday at J&R Gymnastics. Happy Birthday William! This is such a great place for kiddos! They had the whole gym to play and run around in and they truly enjoyed themselves. Landon could live in the pit, on the trampoline or in the bounce house. :)

Fair Day with Friends

Landon about to "drive" the big tractor. He kept asking for the keys. :)

Landon during the pony ride...he said "Yee Haw!"

Landon and William watching their tractor parade!

This picture just makes me laugh...Landon not so sure about the big cow and William informing us that there is a BIG cow behind him. They were a cute pair :)

Landon and I met up with some friends on Friday morning at the County Fair. Friday morning seems like the best time to go because most people are at the parade, so we have the place all to ourselves! The tractors were Landon's favorite part! He was also very excited that Ms. Katy shared her funnel cake with him...he ditched his pork chop once that was brought to the table. :) Landon and William were lucky to be in the right place and the right time and got to view their very own private "tractor parade." The tractors were coming in from the parade so we parked the wagon in front of them and the boys thought that was great. We love our small town fair and look forward to it every year. Thanks for meeting up with us Krista, William, Kimberly, Kaila and Katy!

"Bye Bye Fiers"

Last morning to wake up with his "fiers"

The awesome garbage truck he received in the pacifier trade-off :)

On Friday, Landon traded in his pacifiers or "fiers" as he called them for a super cool garbage truck. He was so excited to get the truck out of the packaging and play with it, however, as soon as nap time rolled around I think he had forgotten the deal he made with his Daddy earlier in the morning. I reminded him about the trade and that his "fiers" were at work with Daddy and now he has a garbage truck instead. He was super sad and at one point told me he did not want the truck. I laid down with him, which helped him get to sleep that afternoon and when he woke up he was excited to see his new favorite toy. I cried just as much as he did as soon as he was asleep...this was as tough for me as it was for him. :( That night he asked for them once again but when I said they were gone, he was fine and did not cry one tear. I was relieved that he did not fight it...made it so much easier on me. He no longer even asks for them but I am still sad for him. Our little boy is growing up and it is just so bittersweet.

Farewell Schlitterbahn Summer 2009

Landon is on the far right. He is sliding down the "der Bahn Speed Slide." He absolutely loved this slide and went down it probably 10 times. I guess since he is so light it automatically flipped him on his stomach as soon as the water shot out and pushed him down the slide. Didn't seem to bother him though since he kept wanting to go again and again!

All three of us went to Schlitterbahn on the last day of the 2009 season and had a fabulous day. We took Landon on several rides that he had never been on and of course he loved each one. He is such a dare devil and loves anything fast. It was a bit cold but after awhile we all got used to it...blue tinged lips and all. Landon finally got to ride the Schlitterbahn bus, something he had begged to do. It was definitely one of the highlights of the day. Schlitterbahn was great to us all summer...we will miss it, but are already looking forward to the fun fall activities ahead. :)

Landon had 2 birthday parties to attend today...needless to say he is in bed and it is only 7:30. That is pretty early for him. He thoroughly enjoyed each one and had more candy/sweets today, than he has ever had, in his short 2 1/2 years of life. He will be detoxing tomorrow!

Lovin' the indoor pool

Cooling off in the water

Landon and I headed to Corpus on Saturday morning to meet my mom/Meme. Brian and my dad were in Goliad getting ready for dear season, SO us girls and Landon decided to meet up and have a great weekend together. We started off with lunch at Chuck E Cheese...that adventure lasted 2.5 hours and we sure did have fun! :) Landon loves that place, what child wouldn't? He traded in his tickets for a cool rocket that we all had fun playing with in the hotel later. After a 2 hour nap in the hotel we went to a cool park on the bay and then to Joe's Crab Shack. This is the perfect place for a music/dancing loving little boy. We finished the weekend off with a swim in the pool, visit to the fake beach and a yummy lunch and then back to New Braunfels. Thanks for meeting up with us Meme. :)
